Health systems
We invest our time in transferring knowledge into solutions. YAD presents itself as a thinking tank working with the government and the development partners in health systems strengthening towards fulfilling its components. YAD supports evidence-based interventions through applying the best practices in health, nutrition and social protection.

Epidemiology and research
Through basic, intermediate and advanced trainings, YAD's capacity building program provides enhanced health workforce capabilities in applied epidemiology. Additionally, our approach in field studies supports conveying scientific observations into clinical reasoning that supports the results-based management and data analysis for informed decisions.

Humanitarian response
Through applying the rights-based approach, YAD has been among the first responders to health emergencies. This includes the Cholera outbreak, COVID-19 Pandemic and disease control activities all over Yemen. Our contribution to humanitarian action remains a responsibility and part of our mission to serve Yemeni people especially in hard-to-reach areas.

Some of our Projects

Minimum Service Package (MSP) Project
Through the MSP project, YAD implemented with the supervision of the Public Health and Population Offices, is working to improve the capacity of the district health system to increase the demand for health facilities. We are working in the governorates of AmanatAlasimah, Sana'a, Dhamar, Ibb, Hodeidah and specifically in BaniHushaish, Khawlan Al-Tyal, Al-Haimah Al-Kharejia, Manakha, Nehm, Etmah, Odein, Qafr, Sudah, Sokhna, and Mina, targeting 152 health facilities.

Prevention Of Cholera Outbreak Project
The Foundation has contributed to reducing morbidity and mortality rates among people with acute watery diarrhea, including cholera, as well as re-printing and distributing cholera education materials to a number of districts in the governorates of Hodeidah, Dhamar and Ibb where we contributed to raising the capacity of health workers to improve cholera response and preparedness in an emergency in diarrhea treatment centers, 24 Oral Rehydration Corners, and 6 Rapid Response Teams.

YAD’s support for Dhamar General Hospital
YAD supported Dhamar General Hospital through the provision of surgical kits for a number of specializations, as well as support for the implementation of training courses in neonatal rehabilitation and infection prevention for the hospital staff which included printing the training manual.

Neutral Monitors for the Polio Campaign Project
With the supervision of the Ministry of Public Health and Population, YAD worked to ensure that the vaccination teams reach all beneficiaries during the polio campaign in the governorates of Alamanah, Sana'a, Taiz, Hodeidah, Marib, Badha’a, Jawf, Hajja, Dhamar, Ibb, Raima, Amran, and Mahweet.

Support for Children's Leukemia Treatment Center
YAD supplied medicines to the Center for the treatment of leukemia in Kuwait Hospital in Sana'a in response to the Center's call for relief with medicines and supplies. This represented a vain of continuity of treatment services for more than 650 inflicted children.

YAD’s Support for Kidney Dialysis Center - Ibb
YAD supported a kidney dialysis center in Ibb governorate by providing the supplies for 1000 dialysis sessions in response to the center’s call for relief.

Expanding, Equipping, and Operationalizing of Al Zaher Health Center
Funded by the German-Yemeni Society, YAD worked to expand, equip and operationalize Al-Zaher Health Center in Al-Zaherdistrict - Al-Jawf governorate in response to the urgent need of the district for medicines, medical tools and equipment.

Rapid Monitoring of Food security and Famine Risk Project
With the support of the World Food Program (WFP), YAD conducted a Food Security and Famine Risk Monitoring Survey in the governorates of Alamanah, Sana'a, Taiz, Hodeidah, Marib, Baydha, Jawf, Hajja, Dhamar, Ibb, Raima, and Amran.
